What happens in the treatment?
Your practitioner will select the most appropriate light that matches your skin concerns, to maximise your results post treatment.
What light is best for me?
There are three lights available at Skin Perfection. Your practitioner will match your skin concerns to the most appropriate light and will choose from one of the following listed below.
Depending on how your skin responds to your treatment plan, your practitioner may select other lights on the day to give you the best results.
Lights available and what they help with
Blue light helps to reduce acne bacteria under the skin that can be the cause of persistent breakouts, spots and marks. Laser or peel acne treatments are enhanced by combining them with the LED blue light therapy.
Red light helps to reduce any redness, swelling, inflammation visible after more advanced or invasive procedures. It also helps to reduce any post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which can occur after a treatment or if you are prone to inflamed or pigmented skin post-procedure. This is great to have as a maintenance treatment, between treatment plans, to calm any swelling, peeling, redness or compromised skins.
Yellow light helps to stimulate collagen and elastin, promoting healthier, younger-looking skin. It also helps to address any fine lines and wrinkles. It's great after any anti-ageing or anti-wrinkle procedure, to maximise the results.
How does it feel?
This procedure is pain-free, relaxing and cooling to the skin. The handheld device blows out cool air, which can be pleasant after a procedure if the skin is compromised.
The light is completely safe and does not damage your eyes or skin.
How often should I come in for a procedure?
At your consultation we will discuss whether you are having the LED light as a combined, stand-alone or maintenance procedure.
Many patients have the treatment during their lunch break, sometimes as a maintenance procedure as it can help them de-stress while improving their skin at the same time.
If you cannot make it during normal work hour, we are open until 8pm most evenings and we can arrange weekend appointments.
If you have any more questions please feel free to get in touch where you can request a call-back from one of our practitioners.
