Redness or rosacea

We can help reduce or remove the appearance of redness or rosacea

Redness or rosacea

Is the skin on your face sometimes unusually red and sensitive, or as if you are blushing, but with no obvious cause?

Have you noticed that

  • there are small broken veins on your face, or small red lumps or pimples, that won’t go away?
  • after going from hot to cold conditions or eating and drinking certain foods, your skin appears red and flushed?
  • whatever product you use, it makes your skin sensitive and inflamed?

These are some of the symptoms of rosacea, a skin condition can affect many women from the age of about 30 onwards.

We have a range of treatments and products to help reduce or remove the appearance of redness or rosacea.

About rosacea

What is rosacea?

Rosacea is a long-term condition that mainly affects the skin on the nose, cheeks, forehead and chin, although it may also be visible on the neck or chest.

In the early stages, it begins with frequent episodes of flushing or blushing, where the skin turns red for a short time.

As the condition progresses, other symptoms may develop such as:

  • persistent redness
  • small red bumps or spots
  • a burning or stinging sensation
  • small blood vessels becoming visible on the skin.

You may also notice your skin appears red and flushed after going from hot to cold conditions, or after eating and drinking certain foods.

Getting the right treatment for rosacea

The cause of rosacea is not clear, and as yet there is no cure. However, while the symptoms may become more noticeable over time, they can be controlled with the right treatment.

Because rosacea can affect each person differently, at Skin Perfection London we provide a range of treatments and products to suit you as an individual.

See below for more details of our treatments and products for redness and rosacea.

Treatments for redness and rosacea

After a thorough skin-health check and consultation, your skin specialist will discuss with you a range of possible treatments.

These can include any of the following.

Laser photo-facial skin rejuvenation - improves skin tone and texture for a more youthful look, and is suitable for a range of conditions including sun damage, wide and localised areas of pigmentation (discolouration), rosacea, redness and inflammation, and visible (or broken) veins; with minimal downtime.

LED light therapy - uses blue light therapy to treat the causes and symptoms of acne and rosacea, by reducing inflammation, irritation and bacteria, with no downtime; can be carried out as part of a four-stage process or as a booster to any skin treatment.

Skin peels or resurfacers - help to improve skin texture and redefine pores, and suitable for a range of conditions including pigmentation (discolouration), scars left by ingrown hairs, lines and wrinkles, redness (or rosacea) and acne; available in different strengths and with different downtimes, according to your skin condition as well as time, financial or social commitments.

A combination of any of the above treatments may be suitable - after your consultation, your Skin Perfection specialist may discuss combining some of these treatment options to maximize your results.
